Dispersion Blades
Dispersion blades are essential components in high-speed dispersers, designed to break down agglomerates, emulsify liquids, and achieve uniform mixing in various industrial processes. They are particularly effective in applications requiring the dispersion of pigments, resins, and other solid particles into liquids. The blades are typically constructed from materials like stainless steel, with options for heat hardening or ceramic coatings to enhance wear resistance. Their design features, such as alternating teeth or grooves, create rapid shifts in pressure zones, facilitating efficient mixing and dispersion.

Product Highlights from DisperseTech's Dispersion Blades
F-Blade (Sawtooth Blade for High-Speed Dispersers)
The F-Blade is a high shear mixing blade featuring uniform teeth that accelerate pigment particles and break up agglomerates. It is complemented by turbulent flow throughout the batch, making it ideal for paint mixing applications. Standard blades are made from stainless steel, with other materials available upon request.E-Blade (Cutter Dispersion Blade)
Known as the Cutter Blade, the E-Blade excels in dissolving resins and is suitable for high vehicle viscosities and solids loadings. Its design produces shear with increased turbulence compared to standard blades, featuring teeth of varying sizes and angles.H Style Hi-Vane Dispersion Blade
The H Style Hi-Vane blade offers high-volume pumping action and radial flow, promoting better blending with low shear to minimize temperature rise. It is effective in dispersing pigments or flatting agents rapidly in high viscosity or thixotropic systems.ITT Blade (Intensive Type with Teeth)
The ITT Blade is designed for high shear and agitation, providing good material movement. Its vents or louvers introduce additional pumping action, making it suitable for applications requiring rapid and smooth blending.Pick Dispersion Blade
The Pick Blade is designed with knife picks and vertical teeth to effectively cut and shred rubber, wax, and similar soft materials that tend to gum up on standard impellers. Its unique tooth design features a knife or pick extending out from the blade, alternating with vertical teeth.
Shear Blades
These are good starting points for most dispersion operations. The F-Blade is the most common blade in use. The common feature of these shear blades is low profile alternating teeth.
Pumping Blades
The pumping blades or high vane blades provide less shear and more flow for better blending. Increasing turbulence is produced by their higher tooth profile.
Mixed Flow
The Mixed Flow blades are an excellent choice for fibrous materials and dissolving of solid resins
Louver Blades
The Louvered Blades add a vent or cup to the blade to introduce an axial flow component.
Ring Blades
For the toughest to grind pigment dispersions, these ring blades provide the highest shear of any dispersion blade
Axial Flow
These fan-style blades produce the largest axial flow component.
Polymer Blades
To avoid metal contamination and improve wear performance we offer Urethane, UHMW, and other polymer blades.
Our disperser blades can be bored to fit any of the common dispersers including Myers Mixers, Morehouse Cowles, Hockmeyer Dispersers, Schold, Schar, etc.
These impellers find use in many chemical processing industries including paint, coating, adhesive, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, etc.
