High viscosity mixers are specialized mixing systems engineered to handle materials so thick — often pastes, slurries, adhesives, sealants, or heavy gels — that normal turbulent mixing cannot be achieved. These materials resist flow and often require laminar mixing where shear, kneading, and mechanical agitation do the work.

Such mixers are used when viscosity levels are very high (often tens of thousands to millions of centipoise), where the mixture behaves more like a paste or semi-solid than a typical liquid.

High viscosity mixers are essential in industries and applications such as:

  • Adhesives, sealants, caulks, putties
  • Coatings, paints, heavy pastes
  • Polymers, rubbers, mastics
  • Inks, pigments, pigment pastes
  • Cosmetics, ointments, creams, heavy gels
  • Ceramics, slurries with high solid loading
  • Other demanding formulations requiring uniform blending and dispersion of solid and liquid ingredients
