Oil Absorbtion (OA)
A pigment oil absorbtion is the amount of linseed oil a pigment can absorb so each particle is coated with a thin layer of oil. It is defined as grams linseed oil absorbed per 100 grams of pigment.
OA = Mo/P x 100 = Vo * 0.93/P * 100
Where:
- OA - Oil Absorbtion
- Mo - Mass of Linseed Oil
- P - Mass of pgment
- Vo - Volume of Linseed Oil
- 0.93 - density of linseed oil g/l
